Utica, NY – The opening reception of the Pieces of HeART exhibit happened on Thursday, June 13th, 2024 from 6-8pm at MVCC’s ThINCubator, located at 326 Broad Street in Utica, NY.
This exhibition features 50 paintings from 30 working artists, as well as a selection of pottery pieces as part of Upstate Caring Partners’ Pieces of HeART Program.
Pieces of HeART is a creative art expression program of Upstate Caring Partners. Multitalented adult artists work in a wide range of mediums, bringing their unique style and technique to every piece created. Pieces of HeART’s vision is to create a stepping stone for artists to develop their skills and explore new opportunities. The Pieces of Heart Program is always expanding its offerings to meet artists desires – currently, artists work primarily in painting, photography, and pottery. There are over 100 artists in the program who finished 127 paintings and 400 pieces of ceramics in 2023.
Prior to the art exhibition, ThINCubator held a “Fireside Chat” from 5:30-6 pm. This in-depth discussion was hosted by Ryan Miller, Director of MVCC’s ThINCubator, and featured Samantha Hallenbeck, Recreation Therapy Specialist for the Pieces of HeART Program.
“We love working with ThINCubator, so to have them host these two events is very exciting for Pieces of HeART,” said Samantha Hallenbeck. “This is a great opportunity for the public, and the local art community, to learn more about our program and the artists who make it possible.”
The exhibit will run through July 8, 2024, during regular business hours or by appointment.
