New Discoveries Learning Center

The New Discoveries Learning Center is dedicated to the education and development of all children.  Your child will be nurtured in a supportive environment by trained and qualified staff in both our preschool and day care settings. Master’s level teachers and experienced caregivers have backgrounds in early childhood education and special education as well as experience working with children of all abilities.

Parents are encouraged to visit the program at any time with no appointment necessary. Many parents stop in for a visit, share lunch, or to have fun at playtime.

Below is a brief overview of our day care and preschool classroom ratios and schedules based on age and level of development.

Toddler Program - 1 ½ years to 3 years

This classroom has a ratio of 5 children to 1 staff member with a maximum of 10 children. Daily schedules are created to be predictable but also flexible to the child’s needs and interests. Developmentally appropriate and child-specific transition opportunities are available to help your child to reach his or her fullest potential.

Preschool Program - 3 to 5 years

Children follow a more structured routine that guides their daily activities. This classroom utilizes the High/Scope approach where children construct their understanding of the world through their hands-on experiences with people, materials and ideas, encouraging them to think, imagine and problem-solve.
