The TRAID, or Technology Related Assistance for Individuals with Disabilities, program at Upstate Cerebral Palsy is part of a network of sites in New York State dedicated to providing people of all abilities with assistive technology information and referral services, device demonstrations and device loans. With more than 3,000 pieces of equipment available, this program is best described as a technology and equipment lending library where you can sign out devices at no cost to use at home, work, school or in the community.
These pieces of technology, many of which are highly complex, can be quite expensive. Thus, TRAID can also help you find potential funding sources for purchase of this equipment. TRAID also accepts donations of used assistive technology devices, which are added into inventory to be loaned to people in need. A local and state-wide matching service is also provided for items or devices for sale.
TRAID services are available to people of all abilities living in New York State. The local Upstate Cerebral Palsy TRAID Center is available to those living in Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Montgomery and Oneida counties, service providers, employers and educators, as well as those interested in assistive technology. Services are provided without regard to age, race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic status.
