School Based Mentoring

Our school based mentoring program pairs children from the Dolgeville, Little Falls and Herkimer school districts with caring, high school mentors within the respective school districts. The matches meet once a week and spend time after school reading, doing homework, playing games or just talking.  A child’s self-esteem increases greatly when a young adult friend genuinely cares. This partnership is designed to help the young student increase his or her self esteem, do better in school and have an opportunity to share what is on his or her mind.  Volunteers enjoy giving back and helping make life better for a child.
