Your child’s emotional health can affect how prepared he or she is for school, his ability to make and keep friends, connect with family and bounce back when faced with life’s setbacks. Checking on your child’s emotional health is important, just as important as having her vision and hearing tested or a yearly physical exam with a family doctor.
Sometimes it is hard to know if your child’s emotional development is on track. Early Recognition, a program for children ages 3-18, has a simple list of questions that either you and/or your child can complete. This screening will be reviewed by a professional who will let you know if a more detailed assessment of your child is recommended.
Early Recognition Offers
- Screening in common settings like schools, health centers and other community locations to reach children early
- Connection to local supports for families
- Comprehensive and as needed assessments to identify needs and strengths of both your child and family
