Upstate Cerebral Palsy has multiple horticulture activities for children and adults in our programs. These include an opportunity to take part in growing plants, vegetables and herbs in our gardens and in a working greenhouse in some of our Day Habilitation sites.
Gardening opportunities within the adult and school-age residential and vocational programs have proven tremendously successful. Our programs are also represented throughout the summer months at local farmers markets throughout the community.
The Root Farm, an affiliate of Upstate Caring Partners, Inc. also has many opportunities for our children and adults to work in the gardens and at the Horticulture Center. Our Horticulture Center includes a working garden with flowers and vegetables to be sold at local farmer’s markets, along with eggs, honey and syrup. Community members are also encouraged to volunteer at The Root Farm in our gardens and in other horticulture activities. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Alexa at (315) 724-6907 ext. 2276.
