A Strong Presence In The Community
Upstate Caring Partners has a strong presence in our Central New York community. The community connections that the individuals supported by the agency make and maintain are vital relationships that support mutual understanding and respect. We celebrate the diversity of the staff from our community that work tirelessly to make a difference in each life that they impact by sharing their unique talents.
Individuals living in the community can choose the level of supports that best meets their needs. Community Habilitation and respite services approved through the NYS Office for Persons With Developmental Disabilities currently benefit individuals annually, and in addition we serve who choose Self-Direction to have a more active role in selecting their staff.
Our Employment Services program currently serves over 180 individuals and is available to both our behavioral health and developmental disabilities divisions. One of the most visible partnerships in the Employment Division is with Generous Brands in Lee, NY, a social enterprise small-batch specialty coffee roaster committed to providing employment and work experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while producing a quality product.
The agency’s day program options include Day Habilitation Centers and program “Without Walls” in the community, including one in partnership with SUNY Poly.
The agency’s “Pieces of HeArt” is a creative art expression program featuring artistic works in a variety of media. Our multitalented individuals, of any age or ability, create art with a common goal of self-expression. Creative expression provides artists an outlet to present their thoughts and feelings and can improve overall well-being. Work produced by our artists is displayed throughout our community and featured at gallery events.
