School-Based Health Center
The School-Based Health Center is a unique venture between Donovan Middle School and Community Health and Behavioral Services, a division of Upstate Cerebral Palsy. With no out-of-pocket expense to students or their families, the School-Based Health Center provides comprehensive primary health care services exclusively to students of Donovan Middle School.
Staffing includes: a full-time nurse practitioner, a part-time supervising physician, a full-time licensed practical nurse, and a medical assistant.
Services include:
- Sick child visits
- Physical examinations
- Nebulizer treatments
- Immunization
- Mental health screening and referrals
- Oral screening for dental referrals
- Diagnostic treatment of acute and chronic illness
- Health education
- Referral services
- Vision, hearing and scoliosis screening
- First aid
- Counseling by referral
- Social work services by referral
